Junior & U23 Competitive Camp

Pittsburgh Rowing Club invites you to join its Competitive Camp this summer. It is open to junior rowers, beginning with 9th grade, through U23 rowers. Athletes will have the opportunity to train on the water and on erg machines, to condition and lift weights. The camp will focus on technical aspects of the stroke sequence, while simultaneously developing endurance and perfecting sprint training. Training in small boats allows the coaches to assess each rower’s areas for improvement and provide individuals with the tools to progress even after camp ends! 

Train this summer under the expertise of Coach Florin Curuea! As a rower, he has earned over 50 medals at the national and international level including:  Romanian National Championships – 21 Gold Medals, 2002-2003 – Gold Medal at World Championships, 2012 Olympic Games – 12th Place Finish and 2012-2013 – Silver Medal at European Championships.

As coach, his accomplishments include: 2016 - 5th Place World Championship U23 Men's 8+, 2015 - Gold Medal World Championship U23 Men's 4, 2014 – Bronze Medal at the World Championships Men's 4-, Gold Medal at the U.S. Regional Championships, Bronze Medals at the U.S. National Championship.

Session 1
June 17th to July 12th
Water Practice: Monday thru Friday from 5:45 am - 7:30 am
Land Practice: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 7:45 - 8:45 am

Cost: $400.00 (Race fees not included)
Weekly - $150.00 (Race fees not included)

Session 2
July 15th to August 9th
Water Practice: Monday thru Friday from 5:45 am - 7:30 am
Land Practice: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 7:45 - 8:45 am

Cost: $400.00 or $350 if you did Session 1 (Race fees not included)
Weekly - $150.00 (Race fees not included)

Races: 109 West Side Invitational, Buffalo, NY July 6th & 7th
Midwest Summer Sprints Nashport, OH July 27th
